I had the most wonderful opportunity to do my intern with Mr.Michael Delgado who is an Account
Executive with Common United Mortgage. I completed my internship
this year’s summer from May 31st to July 22nd. While interning with Mr. Delgado my job entailed:
1. Attending sales calls and any sale meetings that Mr. Delgado had set up with his
clients.
2. Servicing and maintaining existing clients.
3. Learning how to work remotely and the obstacles that it can present and observe different problem solving
techniques (i.e. difficult clients) in every day work.
I had just completed my REA 380 class right before the internship and during my
time spent with Mr. Delgado I felt like it was a hand on experiment of everything I learned in REA 380 class
and all my communication classes. My experience was very beneficial because I learned more in detail about the mortgage industry
which I have always been very interested in, how to make a various sales calls and meetings and how to communicate with clients
in a professional and effective manner.
I have been working for Bank of America for about four years. I started my position as a teller and now I am a Teller Coordinator. During my four years I have moved
to about three differen Banking Center locations. Each time I was able
to get the job due to what I learned in my classes and from my experiences. At
work I was able to put to use a lot of what I learned from all my Communication classes and Business classes. My favorite
class, which is REA 380 not only helped me in my work but also helped me in my personal life. It made me better understand
the real estate market and the different components that affect it and I am proud to say that I own two homes now.
